Start indoors 5–8 weeks before last frost or direct sow after danger of frost, only where summers are long and temperature is consistently warm.. Prefers well-drained soil and full sun. Thin seedlings to 6–12 inches apart. Deadhead regularly for longer flowering, or harvest blooms for drying when fully open.

Harvest notes for drying or cutting: harvest in morning when 2-3 layers of petals have opened but before flowers fully open. Over mature flowers will not dry properly or hold colour.
