Poppy Seeds – Rose Feathers

~350 Seeds

Poppy Rose Feathers is a truly romantic bloom with layers of soft, fringed petals in a gorgeous rosy-pink hue. Each flower looks like it’s dressed for a garden ball, with delicately ruffled edges that catch the morning light and sway gracefully in the breeze.

Standing tall and elegant, these blooms make a stunning statement in borders, cottage gardens, or wildflower-style plantings. Their feathery petals and soft colour bring a touch of vintage charm to any garden bed, and the dried seed pods that follow are just as lovely—perfect for adding texture to bouquets and dried arrangements.

Bees and butterflies adore them, and once you’ve grown this variety, you’ll likely find it reseeds itself in the same spot for seasons to come. They’re happiest in full sun with well-drained soil and will add a flutter of old-fashioned beauty wherever they grow.

Growing Instructions
Sow seeds directly outdoors in late fall or early spring while the soil is still cool and there is at least 1 week before the last frost. Press seeds gently into the surface of fine, well-drained soil—do not cover, as light aids germination. Keep the area moist until seedlings emerge. Thin to 15–20 cm (6–8 in) apart. Poppies dislike transplanting, so direct sowing is best. Allow spent blooms to form pods if you wish for natural reseeding next year.

FAQ
Q: Can Feathers Rose poppies be started indoors?
A: It’s best to sow them directly outdoors, as poppy seedlings don’t like being disturbed.

Q: Will Poppies Feathers Rose come back each year?
A: Although technically annuals, these poppies often reseed naturally, giving you beautiful blooms year after year.

Q: Are poppies good for bouquets?
A: Sort of — long stems and full, peony-style blooms make them perfect for cutting, but their vase life is short (2-3 days). Try searing the stems with hot water for a longer vase life.
