Hakurei turnips are a chef's favourite due to their round, smooth, white roots that do not require peeling. They grow very fast and are best harvested young (30 - 40 days, 2 - 3 inches wide), fully maturing at 40 - 50 days, making them one of the first harvests (right after radishes!).

They can be eaten raw and have a sweeter fruity taste and a crispy texture.
