Poppy Seeds - Mother of Pearl
Papaver rhoeas
~300 Seeds
The Mother of Pearl Poppy is a romantic and ethereal addition to any flower garden, producing delicate, tissue-thin blooms in a misty blend of soft pastels—pale lilac, silvery pink, smokey mauve, and blush.
Unlike the showy reds of traditional poppies, this variety offers a more painterly, antique charm that pairs beautifully with cottage garden flowers or as a standout in minimalist arrangements. The petals shimmer subtly in the light, earning their name, and sway gracefully on slender, wiry stems.
Though short-lived, they are prolific bloomers and reseed readily in the right conditions. These poppies are a favourite of pollinators and surprisingly resilient, thriving with minimal fuss.

Growing Instructions:
Start seeds indoors 6–8 weeks before your last spring frost date or direct sow outdoors as soon as the soil can be worked in early spring. Lightly press seeds into the surface of the soil without covering, as they need light to germinate. Keep soil consistently moist until germination, which typically occurs within 10–20 days. If starting indoors, transplant outdoors once seedlings are sturdy and nighttime temperatures remain above freezing.
Mother of Pearl Poppies prefer well-drained soil and do best in full sun. Allow some flowers to go to seed for natural reseeding the following year. Avoid overwatering once established.
