Ground cherries are sweet-tart in flavour, similar to pineapple with a faint background of tomato. They are easy to grow and produce lots of little fruits on each plant and are ideal for growing in containers.
Ground cherries are a member of the nightshade family and are perfect as a little snack or commonly used as an edible garnish.
Do you live in a cooler climate? Ground Cherries are an excellent candidate for winter sowing in milk jugs to get a jump start on the season.
