Ground cherries are a unique fruit. Their flavor is uniquely sweet: a tropical mixture of pineapple, strawberry and green grapes. They are easy to grow and produce lots of little fruits on each plant and are ideal for growing in containers.
Ground cherries are a member of the nightshade family and are perfect as a little snack or commonly used as an edible garnish.
Do you live in a cooler climate? Ground Cherries are an excellent candidate for winter sowing in milk jugs to get a jump start on the season.
